Foreign medical graduate applying to psych (US citizen, US college graduate)
Hello, I graduated from a HYPS university and, for personal reasons, attended medical school in South Korea. Now, I am considering coming back to the US for residency, specifically for psychiatry. I understand that it's never that easy for FMGs to match into a US residency. I have the following two questions: Since I am US citizen with complete fluency of the language and essentially only went abroad for medical school, would that confer some advantage over other FMGs when it... Guam University!
Little bit of background: In the past, I've transferred from a CC and attended UC Berkeley for a year and came back to South Korea. Came back due to the military service (but found out I was unfit to serve and will be placed to do community service). I'll certainly go back for a year to obtain my bachelor and leave California for good. After experiencing two cities with a high cost of living, Berkeley and LA. I'm exploring Guam University for my future post-bacc program candidate or... Guam University! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Foreign clinical experience
Going to work in a South Korean Veteran hospital starting next year. This job will be 21 months in length. Won't be performing medical procedures like puncturing a patient with a needle but will be put to move patients around and take care of their needs. How does it look on an application? HPSP and Marriage
I have a super specific question that I hope someone can answer. 1.) I am currently applying for the Navy HPSP and Army HPSP. 2.) I also plan to marry my current girlfriend soon who is a South Korean citizen. Question: Will marrying her at this time and petitioning for her marriage visa to the U.S. affect my chances in obtaining the scholarship? Could there be a problem with my background check due to this? Thanks in advance (Source: Student Doctor Network)
