DO Student International Clerkships/Rotations
Hello, I'm currently an M1 at a DO school and I was wondering if any DO students have successfully applied/completed clerkships in South Korea. Thanks in advance! Fwiw, I'm ethnically Korean and have family near Seoul. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Transporting patients with stretcher, wheelchair and bed
Not sure if transporting a patient is a good experience. I am employeed as a patient transport serviceman here in South Korea (for the purpose of fulfilling CNA test clinical hours). But after reading through SDN, transporting patients isn't a good clinical experience or doesnt redeem as a clinical experience at all. My clinical experience in the US comprises of doing the same- transporting patients out the hospital or to a different bed. Also I remember goro saying EMS are just glorified... Outside of the country military program
Happy Saturday, I am a US citizen who graduated from a US dental school and have been working as a general dentist for a few years. I have been lucky to be accepted into a 2-year endodontic residency program for the upcoming year (starts 7/1/2023), and I am considering applying for military programs for the 2 years of tuition and serving the military abroad after the residency, specifically in South Korea--where my family lives. I was wondering if this kind of opportunity is available... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Am I considered disadvantaged? (english second language)
I came to the United States alone when I was 19 years old. In South Korea, I lived in a rural area where I did not have a chance to speak English since the public school I attended only taught reading and listening English. Without experience in speaking and writing English, having to write essays and communicating with professors in college was not easy. I had to spend longer time than others to finish homework and send a simple email. After realizing that I need to invest a long time to... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

International student aiming for US MD schools
Hi, I am South Korean (no green card or citizenship for US) and I graduated from the University of Toronto in 2021 with a major in Immunology and Human Biology. My GPA ended with 3.3, ending the last two years with 3.9 out of 4.0 scale. I took MCAT, but I was not feeling well on the test date, so ended up with 507 (my practice tests were around 512). Currently, I am working in a COVID19 testing clinic and planning to move on to other hospital related jobs. For ECs, I do have 200+... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Ochem1 + LifeSci over the Summer (?)
Hello, I’m a new member, and I‘m a student from South Korea. In Korea, the spring semester is from March to June, and the fall semester is from September to December. I am currently a sophomore in university planning to take organic chemistry 1 + introductory life science this summer from June 28 to Aug 4. I do have a strong biology background, so I think that life science will be okay, but for organic chemistry 1, I have a small background (basic nomenclature, alkanes, stereochemistry... Debating hard about doing Physical Therapy vs Pharmacy
Hello guys, this is an unusual post. After hearing about how the future of Pharmacy is going down the hill, I've decided to do Physical Therapy here in South Korea. My plan is to be commissioned (without the intention of renouncing my U.S. citizenship) as a Physical Therapist officer in Republic of Korea Army(ROKA). Is this better than doing Pharmacy in the U.S.? My plan also includes possibly going back to the U.S. once I have a family in order to raise my kids in the states. Also...
