I was a D2 student at a dental school on the east coast but was dismissed due to poor academic performance, due to a few medical issues I was facing (severe anxiety and panic attacks, a pre-existing metabolic disorder, and resurfacing of rape trauma due to a sexual assault case in my apartment building). i am an acquaintance of someone who is premed and also works in the admissions office at the med school she will be applying to. She has access to current applicants applications and reads their personal statements and shares people’s stories from their personal statements such as those of abuse and sexual assault with her friends. I would not recommend attending this program/school. My friend is a current student at this school and they were raped by a student at Wesley and Wesley did nothing to protect her from this student. They turned a blind eye and let the rapist still attend school!!!! They said that it looks bad on the college and swept everything under the rug. How does a dx of MDD post sexual assault affect licensing?
As the title says, how does a dx of MDD post sexual assault affect future medical licensing? I've noticed that many licensing forms ask whether or not you've been diagnosed with depression or any psychiatric disorder. Anesthesiology vs. Psychiatry
I know these are 2 are total opposites, but I'm a 4th year and am down to these 2. I can't figure it out no matter how much I sit and try to evaluate. I was hoping one of you could help.
