Soleimani assassination.
Seems pretty serious and will definitely escalate tensions in the region. Wars often start with assassinations like these, but tensions already escalating by what some call orchestration of Iranian leaders. Either way, this will be seen as an act of war. Now we are sending more troops in. Curious as to what you all think on this topic. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

End of Bull Market gives way to Bears?
I know we should all stay the course... but... this one feels real. (emotional statement I know... haha). Buying the dips isn't very good at the moment. Let's see what happens with the Feds minutes and the Tariff war. Either way, this does not sit well with Trumps re-election prospects (thankfully). Are you staying the course and dollar cost averaging or taking a defensive position? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

So you cut the CORD? (no no no... not an OB case...I'm talking cable baby!)
I'm posting this thread fully knowing I sound like someone born a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. Finally convinced my wife to give it a go (she likes her "cable" shows). Pulled 1 gig fiber wire to my house and am now downloading/uploading at 990 mb/s on LAN and 450ish on Wifi. Created a mesh network that covers roughly 8000 square feet. I have a one year old 4K Apple TV and 3 Amazon 4K Firesticks which are coming to me for a whopping $75 thanks to prime day. I am pretty cheap guy... So you cut the CORD? Time for some Movie recommendations
So, we've been watching a crap ton of movies lately. 2-3 in a row the last couple of weekends. It's been a nice way to put the brain on ice for a while. I've been out of the movie scene except for the DC and Marvel movies which I am a big fan of. Recently we watched "POLAR" on Netflix. Faaking awesome. It's like Trainspotting AND Mission impossible AND Lock, stock and two smoking barrels all in one. Brilliant movie. If you haven't seen it. Watch it... Ain't silly question!?
I am confused, how can you precisely know the dialer % of the any vaporizer to give you the exact MAC? We have here like some advanced - other than Drager too - anesthesia machine which I only found out MAC delivered to the patient! Is there any equation? A way? To relieve the confusion! Routinely (with other machines), we set Isoflurane on 1.5 %, Sevoflurane on 2 %, Halothane (still somewhere used) at 1% In the picture shows the arrows Sevoflurane 1% delivered 0.6 MAC in Low Flow... Chris Cornell Dead at 52
Those of us that lived through the grunge era will be very saddened by this. Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Nirvana and Alice in Chains single handedly killed the big hair bands of the late 80's early 90's and revolutionized metal as we know it. Nothing remotely close has come out before or after that time. Now Eddie Vedder is the only one left. What a shame. R.I.P... Chris Cornell Dead at 52 (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Ten Years on SDN
This is my 10 year anniversary on SDN. 15,000+ posts and a very interesting ten years for the specialty and my career. 1. CRNA encroachment- This was a big issue for me 2007-2010. I'm glad to see the ASA and the younger generation are mostly dealing with issue well. I'd say the AANA progress has been slow but they are advancing bit by bit. 2. Cases/Clinical- This used to be more regular on the forum but I still enjoy reading most anything clinically related. Noyac, Sevoflurane and... Ten Years on SDN (Source: Student Doctor Network)

So you decide to go on a merger with a strategic...
This mainly goes to those who have gone through the process (@BLADEMDA et al), but would be interested in all comer ideas on this topic as it's a bit of an odd ball. It will likely never happen in an anesthesiologists career again. So better wise up and not screw it up. Let's speculate a lump sum of 2.5 mil. What do you think is the wisest way to allocate receivables from the sale of your shares? Pay off the house and all remaining debt? Invest all of it into the...
