Mature student in Scotland 2:2 degree....need advice
Hi guys. I graduated in 2009 with a LLB (Honours) degree with a 2:2; which was disappointing but given that I had been a very serious accident in my 1st year of uni (that left me three months in hospital and with permanent health problems as a result) had endured a lot of invasive surgery and pain; I thought that it was still a solid degree and a solid achievement. Regrettably it would appear that this is a sentiment not shared by medical schools, and the reason for this is that it would seem that they only consider your 1st degree and nothing else. That is their perogative and although this is frustrating and disappoint...

Application to Barts for Scottish student 2016
Hi. I'm 16 and I really want to study medicine at Barts. I am in my 5th year of secondary school in Scotland and I am currently sitting my higher exams. The higher entry requirements are AAA at higher plus AA at advanced higher. It looks like I'm going to get AAAA, N/A (Human Biology, Chemistry, English, Art, Maths) Im absolutely devastated by how my maths exam went, I was achieving solid B's in all the past papers that I completed, but the exam was an absolute shock. Will this No Award stop me from being considered for entry in 2016? (I won't be old enough to apply for 2015) I am going to be studying AH Biology, AH ...

GEM funding for students from Scotland
Hi First post here so apologies if it is in wrong place. I'm not eligible to study at Scottish medical school due to not having life science background and the dreaded 2:2! And there are no GEM courses, which I'd prefer instead of a 5 year course. So I have to study in England which means £9000 fees. As I have a first degree and an MSc, SAAS will not pay fees or let me have a tuition fee loan but I can get a token maintenance loan but this will obviously not be enough. Whereas, students from England have to pay ~£3500 in 1st year, get a tuition fee loan of ~£5500 per year and years 2-4 the NHS pays the first £3500...

Recent graduate wanting to study medicine in scotland. Any advice?
Dear All I over the next year ill be preparing myself to make an application to medical school next October. I am in need of some advice. I have a 2:1 in Law and have completed the Legal Practice Course in England. After all of my studies and experience in this field I know the job isn't for me. At university I decided that I would apply to med school so I decided to get some experience under my belt. I volunteered at a hospital near to my university and enjoyed every minute of it. I also spent a week shadowing a local GP and registrar. Everything was going well until.... I out that the NHS bursary didn't apply to stud...
