Performance, safety, and biocompatibility of a novel PFO closure device in a long-term porcine model
CONCLUSIONS: In the standard porcine model, device retention and biocompatibility remained favorable following structural and functional device modifications exemplified by the second-generation PFO occluder from Encore Medical, including marked reduction of metal mass.PMID:37684005 | DOI:10.1016/j.jjcc.2023.09.001

Misdiagnosis of a Dissecting Aneurysm as a Cerebral Aneurysm: A Preoperative Case Report
CONCLUSION: Cerebral aneurysms typically involve larger arteries with rare possibilities of stenosis. Moreover, the cerebral artery is relatively small, making it challenging for Brain Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA) to distinguish true and false lumen within blood vessels. The diagnosis of dissecting aneurysms is difficult and often susceptible to clinical misdiagnosis.PMID:37678872

Comparison of the effect of uric acid/albumin ratio on coronary colleteral circulation with other inflammation-based markers in stable coronary artery disease patients
CONCLUSION: UAR was identified as a strong and independent predictor of CCC. In this context, UAR may be a useful biomarker in the risk prediction of patients with stable CAD.PMID:37674333 | DOI:10.1177/02676591231202105

Rationale and design of the INVICTUS Registry: (Multicenter Registry of Invasive and Non-Invasive imaging modalities to compare Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography, Intravascular Ultrasound and Optical Coherence Tomography for the determination of Severity, Volume and Type of coronary atherosclerosiS)
CONCLUSION: The INVICTUS registry will provide new insights into the diagnostic value of CCTA for determining coronary atherosclerosis phenotype and coronary artery dimensions compared to IVUS, NIRS-IVUS, and OCT. Our findings will potentially shed new light on precision medicine informed by an AI-based coronary CTA assessment of coronary atherosclerosis burden, composition, and severity. The relationship between results of coronary angiography, Mediterranean-type lifestyle, type D personality, and healthy life expectancy
CONCLUSION: The evidence-based recommendations for a Mediterranean-type lifestyle stated in cardiovascular disease (CVD) preventative guidelines may have a positive effect on the prevention of CVD, disability-free life, and mortality.PMID:37677937 | DOI:10.24875/CIRU.22000443

Tachycardie ventriculaire r écidivante révélant une sarcoïdose cardiaque: Cardiac sarcoidosis revealed by recurrent ventricular tachycardia
We report here the case of a young woman with cardiac sarcoidosis of difficult diagnosis, revealed by a myocardial infarction with normal coronary angiography and recurrent ventricular tachycardia. Multimodal imaging, combined with left ventricular endomyocardial biopsies guided by electrophysiological analysis and endocavitary mapping, finally confirmed the diagnosis, and allowed effective medical treatment.PMID:37677913 | DOI:10.1016/j.ancard.2023.101644
