One possible answer is financial decentralization, delegating federal financial responsibilities, and decisions to state and regional governments. The study used the weighted matrix analysis technique, LM matrix analysis technique, and ARDL short-run and long-run analysis estimates. However, the degree to which it will help China reduc...

Forecasting of secondary lead recovery from motorcycle batteries in Brazil: a contribution to waste management
This study aims to predict the potential for secondary lead recovery from motorcycle batteries in Brazil, since this is considered the second largest category of automobiles in the country. To achieve this objective, a forecasting model based on the ARIMA methodology was applied, with input data taken from Brazilian sectorial platforms. Furthermore, an analysis of the data, of the residuals, autocorrelation tests, as well as Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Dickey-Fuller tests, were performed. The SARIMA model (3,1,0) (2,0,0)12 presented a better adaptation to the behavior of the series. The results showed that the amount of seconda...

Cross-regional ecological compensation under the composite index of water quality and quantity: A case study of the Yellow River Basin
Environ Res. 2023 Sep 15:117152. doi: 10.1016/j.envres.2023.117152. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe calculation of ecological compensation (EC) constitutes the core element of the EC mechanism, which is related to the practicability of the mechanism. Based on the comprehensive index of water quality and quantity, this study establishes a measurement method for EC across administrative divisions. First, the improved Nemerow pollution index (NPI) is adopted to assess the water quality of specific sections, while the water rights and GDP indicators are employed to characterize the water quantity of each section. Secondly, g...

Low-carbon transformation of China's smallholder agriculture: exploring the role of farmland size expansion and green technology adoption
Environ Sci Pollut Res Int. 2023 Sep 16. doi: 10.1007/s11356-023-29610-6. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTFarmland size and green technology have a significant impact on agricultural carbon emissions. However, more research needs to consider the impact of their interaction on agricultural carbon neutralization. In this paper, the impact of farmland size on the net carbon effect and its underlying mechanisms from the perspective of green agricultural technology adoption were empirically examined using a tracking survey of 2600 farming households. The results show that farmland size expansion at both household and plot levels ...
