Anti-Vascular endothelial growth factor therapy impairs endothelial function of retinal microcirculation in colon cancer patients – an observational study
Conclusions Bevacizumab acutely impairs microvascular function independent of blood pressure changes. Imaging of the retinal microcirculation seems a valuable tool for monitoring pharmacodynamic effects of bevacizumab. Trial registration NCT ID: NCT00740168

5-Fluorouracil–induced Leukoencephalopathy with Acute Stroke-like Presentation Fulfilling Criteria for Recombinant Tissue Plasminogen Activator Therapy
A 61-year-old man underwent systemic chemotherapy with intravenous infusion of nedaplatin and 5-fluorouracil. On the day after the final drug administration, he suddenly experienced difficulty in speaking followed by left-sided weakness. His National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score was 12. A computed tomographic scan of the brain performed 4 hours after symptom onset revealed no abnormalities. Fatal Embolic Stroke Due to Non-Atherothrombotic Mobile Thrombi in the Carotid Artery during Gastric Cancer Chemotherapy: An Autopsy Case Report (P01.255)
CONCLUSIONS: Multiple etiologies for ischemic stroke may exist in cancer patients. A mobile thrombus in the carotid artery should be considered as a possible mechanism for arteriogenic stroke in the clinical settings of malignancy with hypercoagulability. In this report, we highlight the potential risk of reversible cerebral vasoconstriction in children administered vasoactive drugs and discuss its relevance during treatment of retinoblastoma by intraarterial chemotherapy.

Granulomatous angiitis of the CNS revealing a Hodgkin lymphoma
Apart from the iatrogenic effects of treatment, neurologic complications of Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) can be divided into direct (meningeal or intracranial/spinal localization) and indirect (paraneoplastic/immune complications).1 Here, we present a patient with granulomatous angiitis of the CNS (GANS) associated with HL that dramatically improved after the treatment of the angiitis by cyclophosphamide, methylprednisolone, and specific chemotherapy.
