Statins influence the relationship between ATP-binding cassette A1 membrane transporter-mediated cholesterol efflux capacity and coronary atherosclerosis in rheumatoid arthritis
CONCLUSION: In patients with RA, higher ABCA1-CEC may reflect a proatherogenic state, associated with enhanced cardiovascular risk. Differential association between apolipoprotein B and LDL cholesterol and cerebral atherosclerosis according to pre-stroke statin use
CONCLUSIONS: ApoB was consistently associated with ICAS, particularly symptomatic stenosis, in both statin-naïve and statin-treated patients. SARS-CoV-2 infection and SLE: endothelial dysfunction, atherosclerosis, and thrombosis
We present systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) as a model rheumatic disease with endothelial dysfunction and discuss its mechanisms, factors that influence the early onset and rapid progression of atherosclerosis, and the increased risk of thromboembolic events. We focus on established methods to improve endothelium function, including statins, antiplatelet, and antithrombotic therapy. Design, methods and baseline characteristics of the Beijing Hospital Atherosclerosis Study: a prospective dynamic cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: This study has successfully initiated an investigation into the roles of new biosignatures in predicting CAD among Chinese Han patients undergoing CAG. To the best of our knowledge, this cohort is the first study systematically focusing on the association of lifestyle biomarkers and biological age with CAD risk. Comparing pharmacotherapy in MINOCA versus medically managed obstructive acute coronary syndrome
This study uniquely compares the management and outcomes of MINOCA patients with a medically managed obstructive ACS (M-ACS) population. We retrospectively analysed registry data for consecutive patients admitted to the Gold Coast University Hospital with ACS requiring coronary angiography and identified patients with MINOCA and M-ACS.
