Theory-Based Self-Management Interventions for Community-Dwelling Stroke Survivors: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: Theory-based self-management interventions have the potential to enhance stroke outcomes. Systematic reporting on the use of theory and BCTs is recommended to enhance clarity and facilitate evaluations of future interventions. What This Article Adds: This review supports and guides occupational therapy practitioners to use theory-based self-management intervention as a routine part of stroke rehabilitation to improve stroke survivors' experience in the community.PMID:35772070 | DOI:10.5014/ajot.2022.049117

Validation of the Persian Version of the Engagement in Meaningful Activities Survey (EMAS) in an Iranian Stroke Population: Predictors of Participation in Meaningful Activities
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: The results indicate that the EMAS-P has acceptable reliability and validity among Iranian people with chronic stroke. Moreover, the EMAS-P showed good discriminant validity for age, depression, and disability level among them. What This Article Adds: The EMAS-P is a reliable and valid scale for assessing the engagement of Iranian chronic stroke survivors in meaningful activities and thus should be helpful in both clinical research and practice.PMID:35771732 | DOI:10.5014/ajot.2022.046623
