Impact of stroke history on the risk of recurrent hip fracture or major osteoporotic fractures among patients with incident hip fracture. A nationwide cohort study
In conclusion, stroke history was associated with slightly higher risk of recurrent fracture among patients with first-time hip fracture in the overall analysis, although the confidence interval included a null result. The association was modified by baseline mobility: Pati ents with stroke history and good mobility had a markedly higher risk, whereas patients with stroke and poor mobility did not.This article is protected by copyright. Incident peptic ulcers and concomitant treatment of direct oral anticoagulants and oral bisphosphonates —a real-world cohort study
ConclusionBased on our results, concomitant use of oBP and DOAC is associated with a slight increase in the risk of peptic ulcers compared to either drug alone. The prescribing physician should weigh the slight increased risk of ulcer in concomitant users of oBP and DOAC with beneficial reductions in stroke and fractures.

History of cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular biomarkers are associated with 30-day mortality in patients with hip fracture
ConclusionPreexisting CVD was associated with increased 30-day mortality after a hip fracture. Furthermore, high levels of NT-proBNP and low levels of HDL cholesterol were associated with increased 30-day mortality.
