Detection of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation in 994 patients with a cerebrovascular event by intermittent 21-day ECG-monitoring and 7-day continuous Holter-recording
CONCLUSIONS: The two screening approaches had a similar yield of arrhythmia, in spite of the group with intermittent monitoring having a more favorable clinical profile. A positive screening was highly predictive of AF in ECG during the follow-up.PMID:35722185 | PMC:PMC9169544 | DOI:10.48101/ujms.v127.8318

Prognostic performance of GRACE and TIMI risk scores in critically ill patients with sepsis and a concomitant myocardial infarction
CONCLUSIONS: GRACE and TIMI scores did not predict in-hospital severe ischaemic events and mortality in patients with AMI during sepsis. Among individual components of both scores, previous aspirin use was associated with poor prognosis. However, because of lack of statistical power, we cannot formally rule out the usefulness of these scores in this setting.PMID:35710774 | DOI:10.1016/j.acvd.2022.03.007

Advanced Interatrial Block Predicts Recurrence of Atrial Fibrillation and Ischemic Stroke in Elderly Patients With Hypertension
Conclusion: Both partial and advanced IAB are associated with AF recurrence in elderly patients with hypertension. Furthermore, advanced IAB is an independent predictor of ischemic stroke.

Clinical Characteristics of Patients with Arrhythmias of the Idiopathic Outflow Tract Ventricular: Age, Gender, Comorbidities, Laboratory Test Results, and Echocardiographic Parameters
CONCLUSIONS: The outflow tract served as the major original site of IVAs, and significant differences existed between participants in the LVOT and RVOT groups in age; gender; comorbidities; results of laboratory examinations, including red-blood-cell counts, hemoglobin, creatinine, and GGT; and echocardiographic parameters, including LVEF%, LAD, LVEDD, IVS, and LVPWT.PMID:35687704
