Same-Day Carotid Artery Stenting and Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery
CONCLUSION: The study showed that same-day carotid artery stenting and coronary artery bypass grafting for concomitant carotid and coronary disease treatment could be a promising and feasible therapeutic strategy.PMID:36735614 | DOI:10.14503/THIJ-21-7781

The Outcomes of Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery after 18 Months-Is There an Influence of the Initial Right Ventricle Diastolic Dysfunction?
CONCLUSIONS: RV diastolic dysfunction in the preoperative period was associated with the development of MACE within 18 months after CABG, and the ratio Et/e't was one of the independent predictors of MACE in a multiple regression analysis. This makes it expedient to include an assessment of not only systolic but also diastolic RV function in the preoperative examination. The inclusion of an assessment of RV diastolic function in the pre-CABG evaluation of patients deserves further study.PMID:36661913 | DOI:10.3390/jcdd10010018

Postdischarge prognostic significance of periprocedural myocardial injury after percutaneous intervention of chronic total occlusion
CONCLUSION: Periprocedural myocardial injury was associated with a significantly higher rate of MACCE and all-cause mortality after 12 months of FU.PMID:36600648 | DOI:10.1136/openhrt-2022-002113

Hyperlipoproteinemia(a) and Severe Coronary Artery Lesion Types
Conclusion: Diffuse atherosclerosis and coronary calcinosis are associated with elevated Lp(a) levels, independent of other risk factors. The risk of MACE in the first year after surgery is significantly higher in patients with diffuse atherosclerosis and coronary calcinosis, which should be considered when prescribing postoperative treatment for such patients.PMID:36359368 | DOI:10.3390/biomedicines10112848

Impact of Early Ambulation on the Prognosis of Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Patients
CONCLUSIONS: In isolated CABG patients, delayed ambulation was associated with poor outcomes, even in the long-term period. The results support the current guideline recommending early ambulation protocol after cardiac surgery.PMID:36351594 | DOI:10.1253/circj.CJ-22-0416

A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Clinical Outcomes of Patients Undergoing Chronic Total Occlusion Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
CONCLUSIONS: CTO-PCI is associated with better subsequent clinical outcomes in observational studies but not in RCTs. Appropriately powered RCTs are needed to conclusively determine the impact of CTO-PCI on clinical outcomes.PMID:36227013

Coronary atherosclerotic burden assessed by SYNTAX scores and outcomes in surgical, percutaneous or medical strategies: a retrospective cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: Coronary atherosclerotic burden alone was not associated with significantly increased risk of all-cause mortality. The SSII better discriminates the risk of death.TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER: ISRCTN66068876.PMID:36137633 | DOI:10.1136/bmjopen-2022-062378
