Complete Left-Atrial Lesion Set versus Pulmonary Vein Isolation Only in Patients with Paroxysmal AF Undergoing CABG or AVR
Conclusion: Surgical AF ablation concomitant to CABG or AVR in patients with paroxysmal AF is safe and effective. There was no statistically significant difference between the compared lesion sets in terms of freedom from AF, survival or stroke rate after 12 months.PMID:36363563 | DOI:10.3390/medicina58111607

Effects of Coronary Artery Revascularization with a Polymer-Free Biolimus A9-Coated BioFreedom Stent Versus Bypass Surgery before Noncardiac Surgery.
CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated that BioFreedom stenting as a revascularization strategy before major noncardiac surgery might be feasible and safe in selected patients with less severe coronary artery diseases. PMID: 29749130 [PubMed - in process]

Long-Term Prognostic Significance of High-Sensitive Troponin I Increase during Hospital Stay in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction and Non-Obstructive Coronary Arteries.
Conclusion: While a relationship between clinical outcomes and the extent of the hs-TnI increase among patients with a MINOCA working diagnosis remains, it does not seem to be not as strong as it is in patients with obstructive coronary atherosclerosis. PMID: 32867290 [PubMed - in process]

Visual Hallucinations following Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting: A Prospective Study
Conclusions: Transient visual hallucinations occur in a noticeable proportion of patients after on-pump heart surgery. Knowledge of the phenomenon's benignity is important for patients to prevent anxiety and uncertainty and for treating physicians to avoid unnecessary medication and drug-induced delirium.PMID:36295626 | DOI:10.3390/medicina58101466
