Reaction in oral mucosa due to intensive therapy polypharmacy: case report
A 51-year-old white female patient hospitalized in the intensive care unit because of acute ischemic stroke who needed tracheostomy and vasoactive drugs in high dosage evolved with aspiration pneumonia and septic shock. At 30 days of hospitalization, intraoral examination revealed multiple superficial ulcers on the lips, buccal mucosa, tongue, and mouth floor, circumscribed by erythematous halo and covered by pseudomembrane with severe pain symptomatology and evolution of 15 days. Concomitantly, the patient presented bilateral conjunctivitis with erythema in the sclera and periocular region.

Arterial ligation versus embolization in epistaxis management: Counterintuitive national trends
ConclusionCompared to embolization, ligation is associated with significantly decreased hospital charges and shorter hospital stay, without an increase in complication rates. Management of airway compromise following thyroid cyst hemorrhage after thrombolytic therapy
We present a case of a 62‐year‐old female with undiagnosed thyroid goiter who received tPA for acute ischemic stroke and developed acute airway compromise. The surgical airway response team was called due to inability to ventilate or intubate. An incision into the mass during attempted tracheotomy released colloid and blood, decompressing the airway and facilitating ventilation and intubation.
