Evaluating the cost-utility of a direct transfer to angiosuite protocol within 6  hours of symptom onset in suspected large vessel occlusion patients
CONCLUSIONS: Our economic model predicts that the implementation of a DTAS program is cost-effective compared to no organizational changes. Our model also predicts better clinical outcomes for patients in terms of functional independence and quality-adjusted life years.PMID:35960180 | DOI:10.1080/13696998.2022.2113221

IJERPH, Vol. 19, Pages 5689: Influence of Core-Stability Exercises Guided by a Telerehabilitation App on Trunk Performance, Balance and Gait Performance in Chronic Stroke Survivors: A Preliminary Randomized Controlled Trial
és Stroke is one of the main causes of disability. Telerehabilitation could face the growing demand and a good strategy for post-stroke rehabilitation. The aim of this study is to examine the possible effects of therapeutic exercises performed by an App on trunk control, balance, and gait in stroke survivors. A preliminary 12-week randomized controlled trial was developed. Thirty chronic stroke survivors were randomly allocated into two groups. Both groups performed conventional physiotherapy, in addition to, the experimental group (EG) had access to a telerehabilitation App to guide home-based core-stability exercise...

IJERPH, Vol. 18, Pages 12877: Early Occupational Therapy Intervention in the Hospital Discharge after Stroke
osme Stroke is the leading cause of acquired disability in adults which is a cerebrovascular disease of great impact in health and social terms, not only due to its prevalence and incidence but also because of its significant consequences in terms of patient dependence and its consequent impact on the patient and family lives. The general objective of this study is to determine whether an early occupational therapy intervention at hospital discharge after suffering a stroke has a positive effect on the functional independence of the patient three months after discharge—the patient’s level of...

Allogeneic adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells in ischaemic stroke (AMASCIS-02): a phase IIb, multicentre, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial protocol
Introduction Stroke is a serious public health problem, given it is a major cause of disability worldwide despite the spread of recanalisation therapies. Enhancement of brain plasticity with stem cell administration is a promising innovative therapy to reduce sequelae in these patients. Methods and analysis We have developed a phase IIb, multicentre, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial protocol to evaluate the safety and efficacy of intravenous administration of allogeneic adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AD-MSCs) in patients with acute ischaemic stroke, concurrently with conventional...

Available apps for stroke telerehabilitation during corona virus disease 2019 confinement in Spain
CONCLUSIONS: There are few specific Apps for the Stroke rehabilitation of sensory-motor impairments, and with important limitations that prevent their incorporation into clinical practice. The creation and adaptation of Apps for health professionals such as physiotherapists and occupational therapists and their users are recommended. Implications for rehabilitation It is necessary to create and adapt specific telerehabilitation tools to address sensory-motor disorders. Telerehabilitation should be introduced in the clinical practice of physiotherapy and occupational therapy. Telerehabilitation via App can be a solution, ea...

Spanish validation of the Neurogenic Bowel Dysfunction score -NBD score- in patients with central neurological injury.
CONCLUSIONS: The Spanish version of the NBD score is a valid tool for use in our environment; it will allow a more real approach to the disability situation of each patient in relation to neurogenic intestinal dysfunction and knowledge of the degree and the involvement and effectiveness of management through different therapeutic proposals.
