Improved language function for post-stroke aphasia in the long term following repeated repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation and intensive speech-language-hearing therapy: a case report
ConclusionsThe findings of the study indicate that the repeated use of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation and intensive speech-language-hearing therapy may be effective in improving and preserving language function and increasing cerebral blood flow for aphasia following stroke.

Investigation of Mechanical Thrombectomy in Elderly Patients over 85 Years Old: A Multicenter Study
This study examined the usefulness of thrombectomy in the elderly. We retrospectively analyzed patient data using a multicenter acute ischemic stroke registry (NGT-FAST). We examined outcomes in patients 75 years and older who underwent thrombectomies between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2021. The patients were divided into two groups: the 75-84-year-old group and the 85+-year-old group. There was no difference in the pretreatment National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score or Alberta Stroke Program Early Computed Tomography Score between the two groups, but the 85+-year-old group had a significantly lower rate o...

Association of Arterial Stiffness and Atherosclerotic Burden With Brain Structural Changes Among Japanese Men
Conclusions Among Japanese men, higher arterial stiffness was associated with lower Alzheimer disease signature volumes, whereas higher atherosclerotic burden was associated with brain vascular damage. Arterial stiffness and atherosclerotic burden may be independently associated with brain structural changes via different pathways.PMID:37232267 | DOI:10.1161/JAHA.122.028586

Significance of coronary artery calcification for predicting major adverse cardiovascular events: results from the NADESICO study in Japan
CONCLUSIONS: Adding assessment of Agatston CAC scores to Suita score was useful to improve the predictive ability for future MACE in Japanese patients. Agatston CAC scores of ≥100 or 200 in male and ≥ 400 in female patients in addition to Suita score improved the MACE risk prediction.PMID:37085027 | DOI:10.1016/j.jjcc.2023.04.006

Relationship Between MicroRNA Signature and Arterial Stiffness in Patients With Ischemic Stroke
CONCLUSIONS: The expression level of let-7i was independently related to arterial stiffness in patients with cerebral infarction, suggesting that it plays a pathophysiological role in atherosclerosis.PMID:36606643 | DOI:10.3988/jcn.2023.19.1.28
