Safety and Efficacy of Triple Antithrombotic Therapy with Dabigatran versus Vitamin K Antagonist in Atrial Fibrillation Patients: A Pilot Study.
Conclusion: Dabigatran at the dose used for stroke prevention appears safer than VKA and maintains a similar efficacy profile, when used with DAPT, in AF patients who have undergone PCI with stenting for ACS. PMID: 30895193 [PubMed - in process]

Long-term outcomes of three-vessel coronary artery disease after coronary revascularization by percutaneous coronary intervention using second-generation drug-eluting stents versus coronary artery bypass graft surgery
This study evaluated the outcomes after coronary revascularization in patients with 3VD treated by percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) using second-generation drug-eluting stents (2ndDES) in comparison with coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). We analyzed 853 patients undergoing either PCI or CABG for 3VD between 2010 and 2014. Of them, this study included 298 undergoing PCI with 2ndDES alone (PCI group) and 171 undergoing CABG (CABG group). The primary outcome measure was a composite of all-cause death, non-fatal myocardial infarction (MI), or stroke. The secondary outcome measures were cardiac death, MI, stroke, ...

Clinical outcomes of patients with multivessel coronary artery disease treated with robot-assisted coronary artery bypass graft surgery versus one-stage percutaneous coronary intervention using drug-eluting stents
A number of studies have reported on treatment outcomes of coronary stenting (PCI) for multivessel coronary artery diseases (MVD), and compared them with the conventional coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). However, the clinical outcomes of robot-assisted CABG (R-CABG) in comparison with PCI in MVD patients have not been investigated. We recruited retrospectively MVD patients receiving R-CABG and PCI with drug-eluting stents for all vessels in one stage between January 2005 and December 2013 at our institution with at least 3 years of outcomes were retrospectively recruited and analyzed. A total of 638 MVD patients w...

Efficacy and safety of carotid artery stenting: Experience of a single center.
CONCLUSION: The results of this study revealed that CAS was a safe and practical procedure with an acceptable complication rate. In the appropriate patients, experienced interventionists can achieve good results when aggressive risk modification is applied and an EPD and optimal medical therapy are used. Clinical outcomes of patients after using prehospital fibrinolytic therapy: a systematic review
Conclusion: FT was more effective in prehospital treatment to reduce deaths after five years, however, reinfarction and stroke occurred similarly in the sample analyzed. The time factor reduced clinical outcomes, especially when the implemented therapy occurred within two hours after the occurrence of STEMI. Thus, although the interventions presented similar outcomes. However, FT may represent a viable treatment in places where PPCI cannot be achieved in a timely manner.

The impact of coronary artery disease severity on long-term outcomes in unprotected left main coronary artery revascularization
CONCLUSION: CAD severity has prognostic value for mortality, MI, and stroke in patients who undergo unprotected LMCA PCI. An increased initial SS and post-procedural rSS were related to adverse cardiovascular outcomes. The rSS was also an independent predictor of major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events and mortality.PMID:33390575 | DOI:10.5543/tkda.2020.20576

Aspiration thrombectomy in ST-Elevation myocardial infarction: Further insights from a network meta-analysis of randomized trials
CONCLUSIONS: Our comprehensive network meta-analysis suggests conflicting outcomes with AT. While Mortality, MACE, MI seem better, there is a suggestion that, Stroke and ST might be worse. Whether AT can still be pursued in any select cases should be further scrutinized.PMID:33865512 | DOI:10.1016/j.ihj.2021.01.006
