Trial removal of indwelling urinary catheters in stroke patients: a clinical audit at North Shore Hospital.
CONCLUSIONS: Insufficient documentation and inappropriate indications for IDC insertion were features noted during this audit. Daily electronic reminders and prompting concerning TROC are important to reduce catheter days and reduce infection rates. Indwelling catheters and associated infections impact the length of hospitalisation, mortality and morbidity of stroke patients. PMID: 32242174 [PubMed - in process]

The effectiveness of home-based therapy on functional outcome, self-efficacy and anxiety among discharged stroke survivors
This study will provide the information on the effectiveness of HBT in comparison to UP among stroke population who are discharged from rehabilitation. Findings from the study will enable rehabilitation professionals to design effective discharge care plan for stroke survivors in combating functional decline when no longer receiving hospital-based therapy. Effectiveness of autogenic relaxation training in addition to usual physiotherapy on emotional state and functional independence of stroke survivors
Discussion: The expected main study outcome is an enhanced evidence-based physiotherapy program that may be used by physiotherapists in the rehabilitation of stroke patients with emotional disturbances. Psychosocial care in DHB-based stroke services in Aotearoa: a survey of current practice
