Silent Brain Infarction and Risk of Future Stroke: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— SBI is present in 1 in 5 stroke-free older adults and is associated with a 2-fold increased risk of future stroke. Future studies of in-depth stroke risk evaluations and intensive prevention measures are warranted in patients with clinically unrecognized radiologically evident brain infarctions.

Nocturnal Desaturation in the Stroke Unit Is Associated With Wake-Up Ischemic Stroke Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— Nocturnal desaturation was more frequently observed in patients admitted with WUS during the first night in the stroke unit. This suggests that nocturnal desaturation is a possible modifiable risk factor for the occurrence of WUS.

Hemoglobin Concentration and Risk of Incident Stroke in Community-Living Adults Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— Lower and higher hemoglobin concentrations were associated with a higher risk of incident stroke in women. No such associations were found in men.

Homozygous ALDH2*2 Is an Independent Risk Factor for Ischemic Stroke in Taiwanese Men Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— The study demonstrated that ALDH2*2/*2 may be an independent risk factor for ischemic stroke in Taiwanese men, but not in Taiwanese women.

Ethnic Comparison of 30-Day Potentially Preventable Readmissions After Stroke in Hawaii Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— In Hawaii, Chinese may have a higher risk of 30-day PPR after stroke compared with whites. However, this seems to be driven by the high number of repeated PPR within the Chinese ethnic group.

Short-Term Exposure to Fine Particulate Matter and Risk of Ischemic Stroke Brief Report
Conclusions—These findings suggest that short-term exposure to PM2.5 within 1 day before onset is associated with the subsequent occurrence of ischemic stroke.

Post-stroke hemiparesis: Does chronicity, etiology, and lesion side are associated with gait pattern?
CONCLUSION: In order to recruit a more homogeneous sample, more accurate results were obtained and an appropriate rehabilitation program was offered, researchers and clinicians should consider that gait pattern might be associated with time since stroke, affected cerebral hemisphere and lesion etiology. Feasibility and Diagnostic Value of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging After Acute Ischemic Stroke of Undetermined Origin Clinical Sciences
Conclusions—Our study demonstrated that cvMRI was feasible in the vast majority of included patients with acute ischemic stroke. The diagnostic information of cvMRI seems to be complementary to TEE but is not replacing echocardiography after acute ischemic stroke.Clinical Trial Registration—URL: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. Risk of Stroke With Various Types of Menopausal Hormone Therapies Brief Report
Conclusions—In a national setting, we found an increased risk of stroke, based on ischemic stroke, with oral hormone therapies that was comparable to findings from randomized studies. We found no risk of stroke with transdermal application and a reduced risk with vaginal estrogen.

Whole Grain Consumption and Risk of Ischemic Stroke Clinical Sciences
Conclusions—Although overall consumption of whole grains was not associated with lower risk of ischemic stroke, greater consumption of whole grain cold breakfast cereal and bran was significantly associated with a lower risk of ischemic stroke. More studies are needed to replicate these associations between individual whole grain foods and risk of ischemic stroke among other populations.
