Fat-to-muscle Ratio: A New Indicator for Coronary Artery Disease in Healthy Adults
Conclusion: In this study, a high FMR was significantly associated with CAC. A large-scale prospective study on the association with FMR and cardiovascular diseases is necessary to confirm this relationship.PMID:34790047 | PMC:PMC8579285 | DOI:10.7150/ijms.62871

SYNTAX and Coronary Artery Calcium Score Predict Atherosclerotic Plaque Formation in the Ascending Aorta
CONCLUSIONS: CAC score and ACS are strongly correlated with the complexity of coronary arteries in CABG patients. The total CAC score (≥ 400 AU) was independently associated with the degree of SS (>37). To prevent MACCE and mortality in CABG patients, we suggest the measurement of CAC score accompanied with ACS using MDCT as a non-invasive method. Highlight points: • Atherosclerotic plaque formation in aorta and coronary arteries are the main risk factors for stroke and infarction in CABG operations. •SYNTAX score value and aortic atherosclerosis levels are directly correlated. •SYNTAX score may predict the comp...

Current prescription status of antihypertensive drugs in Chinese patients with hypertension: analysis by type of comorbidities
Clin Exp Hypertens. 2022 Jan 3:1-9. doi: 10.1080/10641963.2021.2022688. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn 2020, the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases with National Committee on Hypertension Management in Primary Health Care in China issued revised national clinical practice guidelines on the management of hypertension in primary health care based on the 2018 Chinese guidelines for the management of hypertension. To evaluate adherence to the guidelines, this retrospective study assessed the real-world status of antihypertensive drug prescribing for Chinese patients with hypertension, classified by comorbidity: coro...
