Risk of Coronary Heart Disease and Ischemic Stroke Incidence in Gastric Cancer Survivors: A Nationwide Study in Korea.
CONCLUSIONS: CHD and ischemic stroke risk decreased after gastrectomy. The amount of weight loss and accompanying metabolic changes seemed to mediate the reduction of such risk. Reassessment of cardiovascular risk factors after gastrectomy and consideration of cardiovascular risk in the selection of treatment modality are suggested. Borderline operability in hepatectomy patients is associated with higher rates of failure to rescue after severe complications
ConclusionsHepatectomy patients meeting BL criteria have an overall post‐hepatectomy mortality rate that is triple that of non‐BL patients. With less clinical reserve, BL patients who suffer SC are at greater risk of post‐hepatectomy death. J. Surg. Oncol. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

P05.04 Morphine pretreatment improves the therapeutic efficacy of doxorubicin in an orthotopic model of human glioblastoma
Conclusions:The present findings show that molecules as morphine are able to interfere with molecules normally unable to cross the BBB. This mechanism could be used for new approaches in therapy of refractory CNS tumors as glioblastoma.
