Prevalence and site of predilection of carotid webs focusing on symptomatic and asymptomatic Japanese patients
CONCLUSIONS: Although limited to CTA patients, this study reported on the prevalence and common site of CWs, focusing on symptomatic and asymptomatic Japanese patients. Extensive cross-sectional and prospective observational studies are warranted to elucidate the overall prevalence and natural history of CWs.PMID:33668027 | DOI:10.3171/2020.8.JNS201727

Multiple predictors of in-stent restenosis after stent implantation in symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis
CONCLUSIONS: Elevated hs-CRP level, NLR, residual stenosis, Mori type B and C, CAD, and concurrent intracranial tandem stenosis are the main predictors of intracranial ISR, and elevated hs-CRP is crucially associated with recurrent stroke in patients with symptomatic ICAS after intracranial stent implantation.PMID:34715652 | DOI:10.3171/2021.6.JNS211201

Impact of collateral flow on cost-effectiveness of endovascular thrombectomy
CONCLUSIONS: EVT treatment in the early time window for good outcome after ischemic stroke is cost-effective irrespective of the quality of collateral circulation, and patients should not be excluded from thrombectomy solely on the basis of collateral status. Despite relatively lower benefits of EVT in patients with poor collaterals, even smaller differences in better outcomes have significant long-term financial implications that make EVT cost-effective.PMID:35535841 | DOI:10.3171/2022.2.JNS212887

Periprocedural cerebrovascular complications and 30-day outcomes of endovascular treatment for intracranial vertebral artery dissecting aneurysms
CONCLUSIONS: Hyperlipidemia, IS history, and SAH were independent predictors for overall periprocedural cerebrovascular complications of endovascular treatment for IVADAs, but aneurysmal height was an independent protective factor. SAH and preprocedural mRS score > 2 were independent risk factors for perforator occlusion stroke. Preprocedural mRS score > 2 and periprocedural complications were independent risk factors for 30-day unfavorable clinical outcomes.PMID:36401540 | DOI:10.3171/2022.10.JNS221953
