Fatal hemopericardium after intravenous recombinant transplasminogeen activator (rt-PA) for acute ischemic stroke
Intravenous recombinant transplasminogeen activator (rt-PA) treatment is considered as standard acute phase treatment in ischemic stroke. In the initial stroke guidelines, recent myocardial infarction (MI) was listed as a contraindication for rt-PA treatment due to the increased risk of myocardial wall rupture. However, in the recent American Heart Association/American Stroke Association guideline, it is regarded only as a relative contraindication, and in the European guidelines, currently it is not listed as a contraindication.

Rescue thrombolysis in the treatment of cardiac shock and acute stroke
The patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction are primarily managed with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or thrombolysis. Thrombolytic therapy-associated acute myocardial infarction in patients with acute ischemic stroke: A treatment dilemma
Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is uncommon in the acute phase of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and occurs in approximately 1% of the population. Here, we report a paradoxical case of AMI during tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA) infusion for AIS. We review and analyze the previously reported cases. We found that only patients with AMI which occurred after thrombolytic therapy for AIS who received an adequate combination of anticoagulation plus percutaneous coronary intervention survived their events.

Brugada Electrocardiogram Pattern Induced by Cannabis; is cannabis safe?
The objective of this study was to present a case report that bring attention to relationship between cannabis consumption and Brugada electrocardiogram pattern (BEP). Here we present a case of a 19-year-old male patient with symptomatic BEP induced after cannabis consumption. With the potential for more widespread legalization of cannabis several studies are raising the issue of adverse vascular effects of cannabis, including myocardial infarction, sudden cardiac death, cardiomyopathy, stroke, transient ischemic attack, and cannabis arteritis.

2016: Emergency Medical Services Annotated Literature in Review
In the daily practice of emergency medicine, physicians constantly interact with components of emergency medical services (EMS) systems. The provision of high quality care in the prehospital setting requires emergency physicians to remain abreast of recent literature that may inform the care of patients prior to their arrival at the emergency department. This literature review will examine some recent trends in the prehospital literature, including cardiac arrest care, trauma, myocardial infarction, and stroke.
