Detection of meningoencephalitis caused by Listeria monocytogenes with ischemic stroke-like onset using metagenomics next-generation sequencing: A case report
Rationale:
Listeria monocytogenes (L. monocytogenes) is a compatible intracellular bacterial pathogen that can invade different mammalian cells and reach the central nervous system (CNS), leading to meningoencephalitis and brain abscesses. In the diagnosis of L. monocytogenes meningoencephalitis (LMM), conventional tests are often reported as negative due to antibiotic therapy or low bacterial content in cerebrospinal fluid. To date, prompt diagnosis and accurate treatment remain a challenge for patients with Listeria infections.

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) in a patient with moyamoya disease: A case report
Conclusion:
This report suggests that patients with MMD may be susceptible to PRES. It highlights the importance of considering PRES as a differential diagnosis while providing care to MMD patients with concurrent acute neurological symptoms and a prompt intervention contributes to a favorable clinical prognosis.

The noninferiority of transcatheter aortic valve implantation compared to surgical aortic valve replacement for severe aortic disease: Evidence based on 16 randomized controlled trials
Conclusions:
Our analysis shows that TAVI was equal to sAVR in early, midterm and long term mortality for patients with severe aortic disease. In addition, TAVI may be favorable in reducing the incidence of both early, midterm and long term NOAF. However, pooled results showed superiority of sAVR in reducing permanent pacemaker implantation, neurological events, TIA, major vascular complications and reintervention.

Comparison of postprocedural new-onset atrial fibrillation between transcatheter and surgical aortic valve replacement: A systematic review and meta-analysis based on 16 randomized controlled trials
Conclusions:
Our analysis showed that TAVR was superior to SAVR in decreasing the both short and long term postprocedural NOAF. TAVR was equal to SAVR in early, midterm and long term mortality. In addition, TAVR showed lower incidence of 30-day/in-hospital MI and cardiogenic shock after procedure. However, pooled results showed that TAVR was inferior to SAVR in reducing permanent pacemaker implantation, neurological events, TIA, major vascular complications, and re-intervention.

Cystatin C predicts the risk of incident cerebrovascular disease in the elderly: A meta-analysis on survival date studies
Conclusion:
Increased serum Cys C is significantly associated with future stroke events in the elderly, especially in patients with carotid atherosclerosis. Thus, serum levels of Cys C could serve as a predicted biomarker for stroke attack.

Relationship of electrocardiographic changes and severity of acute cerebral ischemic stroke in old patients: A clinical observational study

Effects of an Avocado-based Mediterranean Diet on Serum Lipids for Secondary Prevention after Ischemic Stroke Trial (ADD-SPISE): Study protocol

Meningioma preceding CASPR2 antibody limbic encephalitis with a stroke mimic: A case report
We report a contactin-associated protein-like 2-antibody (CASPR2-Ab)-positive patient who presented with atypical LE.
Diagnoses:
CASPR2-Ab-positive LE was the presumed diagnosis. Re-evaluation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples revealed autoantibodies targeting CASPR2 at an immunoglobulin G titer of 1:1. The clinical presentation of subacute onset seizures, abnormal electroencephalography, hypermetabolism on positron emission tomography, good immunotherapy response, and the presence of specific antibodies in serum supports a diagnosis of autoimmune LE.
