Vascular risk factors for male and female urgency urinary incontinence at age 68 years from a British birth cohort study
ConclusionMultifactorial mechanisms lead to UUI and vascular risk factors may contribute to the pathogenesis of bladder overactivity in addition to higher BMI. Severe UUI appears to be a distinct presentation with more specific contributory mechanisms than milder UUI.

Impact of testosterone replacement therapy on thromboembolism, heart disease and obstructive sleep apnoea in men
ConclusionsThis study adds to growing evidence that the cardiovascular risk associated with TRT may be lower than once feared. The elevated risk of OSA in men using TRT is noteworthy.

Impact of testosterone replacement therapy on thromboembolism, heart disease, and obstructive sleep apnea in men
ConclusionsThis study adds to growing evidence that cardiovascular risk from TRT may be less than once feared. The increased risk of sleep apnea in men using TRT is noteworthy. The study strengths include the large number of healthy and young men exposed to TRT. Limitations include the retrospective study design inability to account for granular details of TRT use such as dosage, specific forms of TRT and serum testosterone levels pre‐ and post‐TRT.This article is protected by copyright. Prostate size, nocturia and the digital rectal examination: a cohort study of 30 500 men
ConclusionsDigital rectal examination is a modestly accurate tool for measuring prostate volume. While DRE posterior surface area represents a statistically significant predictor of nocturia, the magnitude of effect suggests it has limited clinical utility for assessing this condition, particularly in the presence of cardiovascular risk factors.

Increase of Framingham cardiovascular disease risk score is associated with severity of lower urinary tract symptoms
ConclusionOur cross‐sectional study in a cohort of patients with LUTS–BPH showed an increase of more than five‐fold of having a Framingham CVD risk score of ≥10% in men with moderate–severe LUTS.

Risk of acute myocardial infarction after androgen‐deprivation therapy for prostate cancer in a Chinese population
ConclusionsThere was increased risk of AMI after ADT for prostate cancer in a Chinese population. Hyperlipidaemia and poor ECOG PS were also significant risk factors for developing AMI. The risk of AMI should be considered when deciding on ADT, especially in patients with history of hyperlipidaemia and relatively poor ECOG PS.

Nerve growth factor (NGF): a potential urinary biomarker for overactive bladder syndrome (OAB)?
Conclusions Whilst the evidence for an increased urinary NGF in OAB appears convincing, many questions about its validity remain including: specificity, sensitivity, cost‐ and time‐effectiveness. Many criteria for what constitutes a biomarker still need to be evaluated and met before this molecule can be considered for this role.
