PPP1R12C Promotes Atrial Hypocontractility in Atrial Fibrillation
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with AF exhibit increased levels of PPP1R12C protein compared with controls. PPP1R12C overexpression in mice increases PP1c targeting to MLC2a and causes MLC2a dephosphorylation, which reduces atrial contractility and increases AF inducibility. These findings suggest that PP1 regulation of sarcomere function at MLC2a is a key determinant of atrial contractility in AF.PMID:37737016 | DOI:10.1161/CIRCRESAHA.123.322516

Treatment of Stroke at a Delayed Timepoint with a Repurposed Drug Targeting Sigma 1 Receptors
In this study, we hypothesized that oral oxeladin citrate would stimulate BDNF secretion and improve stroke outcomes when administered to male rats starting 48 h after transient middle cerebral artery occlusion. Oxeladin did not alter blood clotting and crossed the blood brain barrier within 30 min of oral administration. Rats underwent 90 min of transient middle cerebral artery occlusion. Linkage of blood cell division cycle 42 with T helper cells, and their correlation with anxiety, depression, and cognitive impairment in stroke patients
This study aimed to assess the correlation between blood CDC42 and Th cells, and their association with mental issues in stroke patients. Peripheral blood samples were obtained from 264 stroke patients and 50 controls. Then, serum CDC42 was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and Th1, Th2, and Th17 cells were detected by flow cytometry. Tranexamic acid in a mouse model of cerebral amyloid angiopathy: setting the stage for a novel stroke treatment approach

Activation of endothelial TRPM2 exacerbates blood-brain barrier degradation in ischemic stroke
CONCLUSIONS: In conclusion, our data reveals a novel molecular mechanism in which TRPM2 and CD36 promote the activation of each other, which exacerbates endothelial dysfunction during ischemic stroke.
