Pharmacological interventions for asymptomatic carotid stenosis
CONCLUSIONS: Although there is no high-certainty evidence to support pharmacological intervention, this does not mean that pharmacological treatments are ineffective in preventing ischaemic cerebral events, morbidity, and mortality. High-quality RCTs are needed to better inform the best medical treatment that may reduce the burden of carotid stenosis. In the interim, clinicians will have to use other sources of information.PMID:37565307 | PMC:PMC10401652 | DOI:10.1002/14651858.CD013573.pub2

E-187 Pipeline embolization stent for treatment of giant supraclinoid aneurysms: a case series
ConclusionThe Pipeline embolization device is a novel technique that can be utilized for treatment of giant cerebrovascular aneurysms with emerging evidence of immediate and long-term success. Further patient enrollment and clinical trials will be required to assess its efficacy in comparison to other endovascular and surgical approaches for the treatment of giant aneurysms.Disclosures M. Nebivolol and incident cardiovascular events in hypertensive patients compared with nonvasodilatory beta blockers
Conclusion: The vasodilatory beta blocker nebivolol was associated with reduced incident cardiovascular events compared with nonvasodilatory beta blockers. Additional study of other beta blockers is necessary to determine if this is a vasodilatory beta blocker class effect or is specific to nebivolol. Graphical abstract: http://links.lww.com/HJH/B916

Case Report of High-Grade Atrioventricular Block and Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy
CONCLUSION: When AVB or other arrhythmias initiate a TTC, the patient can experience sudden cardiac death and decompensate quickly. Therefore, clinicians should understand this rare but fatal complication because these patients require pacemakers and beta blockers.PMID:35348088 | PMC:PMC8817916 | DOI:10.7812/TPP/21.006
