More Europeans Died Because of Heat in 2022 Than Any Year in Recorded History
As the Earth continues to warm, the rising temperatures are contributing to a number of health conditions that are in turn driving up mortality. Interpersonal Values of Patients Participating in Phase II –III Clinical Trials: Implications for Clinical Trial Representativeness
ConclusionsThis novel analysis of the interpersonal values of patients that participate in Phase II and III clinical trials revealed that the patients ’ interpersonal values largely differed from those of the Portuguese normative population. Better understanding the implications of these findings for clinical trial representativeness and outcomes is of crucial importance.

COPD and COVID-19: a dangerous association?
Conclusion: COPDs patients are mostly ederly men with comorbidities. The most effective treatment for them was stabilization of comorbidities and conventional oxygen and for the most severe Helmet-CPAP and NIV. In addition, COPD patients had no higher risk of mortality from COVID-19 than individuals without a pre-existing diagnosis of COPD.

The Portuguese Registry of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy: Overall results
Conclusions Contemporary HCM in Portugal is characterized by relatively advanced age at diagnosis, and a high proportion of invasive treatment of obstructive forms. Long-term mortality is low; heart failure is the most common cause of death followed by sudden cardiac death. However, the burden of morbidity remains considerable, emphasizing the need for disease-specific treatments that impact the natural history of the disease.
