"A proof of life" through transition from hospital to home after a stroke in a Portuguese setting - a multi-perspective, longitudinal qualitative study
CONCLUSIONS: Findings show that the manner in which changes after a stroke are approached may be positively transformed to provide strength. More Europeans Died Because of Heat in 2022 Than Any Year in Recorded History
As the Earth continues to warm, the rising temperatures are contributing to a number of health conditions that are in turn driving up mortality. And for the first time, scientists have figured out a more detailed way to estimate how many deaths can be attributed to heat.
In a paper published in Nature Medicine, researchers in Spain and France calculated that more than 61,000 deaths in Europe could be blamed on the heat during the summer of 2022, the hottest summer on record for the continent. (At least until the readings from 2023 are analyzed later this year.)

Oral Anticoagulation and the Incidence of Stroke Associated with Atrial Fibrillation in Mainland Portugal: A Modelling Study
CONCLUSION: The use of oral anticoagulation was associated with a reduced incidence of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation in mainland Portugal. Professional reintegration among professionally active Portuguese stroke survivors: a multicentric study
CONCLUSIONS: Professional reintegration and vocational support after stroke, remained below the international goals for community reintegration of stroke survivors. Interpersonal Values of Patients Participating in Phase II –III Clinical Trials: Implications for Clinical Trial Representativeness
ConclusionsThis novel analysis of the interpersonal values of patients that participate in Phase II and III clinical trials revealed that the patients ’ interpersonal values largely differed from those of the Portuguese normative population. Better understanding the implications of these findings for clinical trial representativeness and outcomes is of crucial importance.
