Methotrexate-Induced Stroke-Like Encephalopathy: Beware the Stroke Mimic
We report a case of methotrexate (MTX)-induced stroke-like encephalopathy in an 18-year-old woman, with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, who developed a sudden neurological deficit mimicking a cerebrovascular event. Bain MRI showed hyperintensities on diffusion-weighted-imaging (DWI) with matching apparent diffusion coefficient hypointensities, which also represent the commonest MRI findings in acute cerebral infarction. DWI changes spared the cerebral cortex and did not respect vascular territories, supporting a non-vascular mechanism. MRI plays a crucial role in the diagnostic work-up   and is essential to avoid unnecessar...

MRI of Wallerian Degeneration in the Brainstem: A Pictorial Essay
Wallerian degeneration of the cerebral peduncle is a common MRI finding after cerebral injury. The degree of peduncular atrophy reflects the extent of damage in the corticospinal tract. The acute phase of Wallerian degeneration is visible with Diffusion-Weighted-Imaging. New investigation with Diffusion-Tensor-Imaging quantifies Wallerian degeneration in the subacute ischemic phase and is a good predictor for later functional recovery after stroke. Global research trends in COVID-19 with MRI and PET/CT: a scoping review with bibliometric and network analyses
ConclusionCOVID-19 pandemic is still spreading worldwide, and the knowledge about its different facets continues advancing. MRI and PET/CT are being used in more than 50% of the selected studies; research trends span seven categories, no only the diagnostic but others like socio-economic impact and pathogenesis Developed countries had an advantage by having hospitals with more resources, including MRI and PET/CT facilities in the same institution to supplement basic assessment in patients with COVID-19.

Vessel Wall MRI in HIV-Associated Cerebral Angiitis
Teaching Point: Angiitis, an underestimated cause of stroke in HIV patients, can be diagnosed using vessel wall MRI which directly demonstrates arterial wall thickening and enhancement. Published on 2020-11-09 10:49:00

CT Perfusion as a Selection Tool for Mechanical Thrombectomy, a Single-Centre Study
Conclusions: Mechanical thrombectomy for anterior circulation strokes based on CTP did not result in a significant functional outcome improvement. The duration of the thrombectomy procedure was the sole time-interval related to improved functional outcome. Published on 2020-01-20 12:01:10
