Clinical profiles and one-year outcome in middle eastern patients with atrial fibrillation and major bleeding events. The Jordan atrial fibrillation study
Background and Aims: Oral anticoagulant agents (OACs) reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism (SE) in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) but may increase the risk of major bleeding (MB) events. There is a scarcity of studies that address the incidence, predictors, and outcomes of bleeding events in AF patients in the Middle East. This contemporary multicenter study sought to evaluate in detail the bleeding events and predictors of these events

Nurses' knowledge of anticoagulation therapy for atrial fibrillation patients: Effectiveness of an educational course
ConclusionThe educational course was effective in improving the nurses' knowledge. Baccalaureate degree holders achieved more improvement in their knowledge scores. Post-graduate education for nurses would help to improve their knowledge of anticoagulants. Revision of nursing curricula may be deemed necessary to improve the quality of education for nurses during their degree work, especially regarding anticoagulants.

One-Year Clinical Outcome in Middle Eastern Patients with Atrial Fibrillation: The Jordan Atrial Fibrillation (JoFib) Study
CONCLUSIONS: This study of Middle Eastern AF patients has reported high adherence to OACs. The use of OACs was associated with a lower risk for all-cause mortality. One-year rates of stroke and major bleeding events were comparable to those reported from other regions in the world.PMID:35462945 | PMC:PMC9020983 | DOI:10.1155/2022/4240999
