Comparing the Effectiveness and Safety of Non-Vitamin K Antagonist Oral Anticoagulants and Warfarin in the Elderly Asian Patients with Atrial Fibrillation: A Nationwide Cohort Study.
CONCLUSIONS: Compared to warfarin, NOACs were associated with a significantly lower risk of adverse events, with heterogeneity in treatment effects among different age strata. Stroke/thromboembolism and intracranial hemorrhage in a 'real world' atrial fibrillation population: The CAFBO STUDY (Complications of Atrial Fibrillation in the BOlogna area).

Relationship of the SAME-TT2R2score to poor quality anticoagulation, stroke, clinically relevant bleeding and mortality in patients with atrial fibrillation.

The impact of smoking on thromboembolism and mortality in patients with incident atrial fibrillation: insights from the Danish Diet, Cancer and Health study.
CONCLUSIONS Smoking is associated with a higher risk of thromboembolism or death in patients with AF even after adjusting for well-recognised risk factors used in stroke risk stratification schemes.
