E-226 Endovascular treatment of pediatric arteriovenous shunts
ConclusionEndovascular treatment of pediatric arteriovenous shunts is extremely difficult and associated with high risks of complications. However, excellent clinical results can be achieved in specialized clinics. The choice of embolic agent should depend on the hemodynamic load of the pathological blood flow.Disclosures V. Antiplatelet therapy for standalone coiling of ruptured intracranial aneurysms: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Conclusions Although this study showed no beneficial effect of AT on clinical outcomes, the results suggest that AT could be combined with standalone coiling to avoid thromboembolism during the perioperative period. A large prospective study and/or an additional meta-analysis would be required to further investigate how AT benefits standalone coil embolization in aSAH.

O10 The necessity of monitoring platelet response and adjusting antiplatelet agents for endovascular treatment of unruptured intracranial aneurysms: a single-center, retrospective, cohort study
ConclusionActive monitoring and adjustment antiplatelet agents did not reduce ischemic complications in endovascular treatment; however, tended to reduce the ischemic complication, especially in flow diversion. Low-dose prasugrel may be feasible without increasing hemorrhage in the endovascular treatment of unruptured intracranial aneurysms.ReferencesLi W. E-187 Pipeline embolization stent for treatment of giant supraclinoid aneurysms: a case series
ConclusionThe Pipeline embolization device is a novel technique that can be utilized for treatment of giant cerebrovascular aneurysms with emerging evidence of immediate and long-term success. Further patient enrollment and clinical trials will be required to assess its efficacy in comparison to other endovascular and surgical approaches for the treatment of giant aneurysms.Disclosures M. P-019 Comparative effectiveness of stent-assisted coiling and woven endobridge (WEB) embolization for the treatment of unruptured wide-neck bifurcation intracranial aneurysms
ConclusionMid-term complete and adequate occlusion rates were similar between patients treated with WEB and SAC. Neurosurgery in times of a pandemic: a survey of neurosurgical services during the COVID-19 outbreak in the Veneto region in Italy.
CONCLUSIONS: This multicenter study describes the effects of a COVID-19 outbreak on neurosurgical activities in a vast region in Italy. Remodulation of neurosurgical activities has resulted in a significant reduction of elective and emergency surgeries compared to previous years. Most likely this is a combined result of cancellation of elective and postponable surgeries, increase of conservative management, increase in social restrictions, and in patients' fear of accessing hospitals. Curiously, only endovascular procedures for AIS have increased, possibly due to reduced physical activity or increased thrombosis in SARS-Co...

Unruptured aneurysms in the elderly: perioperative outcomes and cost analysis of endovascular coiling and surgical clipping.
CONCLUSIONS Intervention with CAC and CACo in the elderly is resource intensive and is associated with higher risk than in the nonelderly. Those deciding between intervention and conservative management should consider these risks and costs, especially the 2.2% postoperative mortality rate associated with CAC in the elderly population. Further comparative cost-effectiveness research is needed to weigh these costs and outcomes against those of conservative management. PMID: 29712518 [PubMed - in process]

E-067 Endovascular Approach in the Repair of the Middle Cerebral Artery Aneurysm Including Those with Wide Neck and Complex in Morphology-A Case Series
ConclusionsEndovascular repair of the MCA aneurysm inclosing those with wide neck and complex are not only safe and feasible, but associated with high long-term functional outcome. Therefore, endovascular options must be offered to patients prior to surgical clipping of a MCA aneurysm. Further study may be warranted.DisclosuresY. Lodi: None. V. Reddy: None.

Endovascular treatment of unruptured wide-necked intracranial aneurysms: comparison of dual microcatheter technique and stent-assisted coil embolization
Conclusions DMT and SAC are effective endovascular approaches for unruptured, wide-necked aneurysms; however, DMT may result in less morbidity. Further long-term studies are necessary to determine the optimal indications for these treatment options.

Timing and nature of in-house postoperative events following uncomplicated elective endovascular aneurysm treatment.
Conclusions The large majority of significant postprocedural events after uncomplicated endovascular aneurysm intervention occur within the first 4 hours; these events become less frequent with increasing time. Transfer to a floor bed after 4-12 hours for further observation is reasonable to consider in some patients. PMID: 25170666 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Early results of the Axium MicroFX for Endovascular Repair of IntraCranial Aneurysm (AMERICA) study: a multicenter prospective observational registry
Conclusions This prospective study of Axium MicroFX coils demonstrates excellent aneurysm occlusion rates. 52% of aneurysms were completely occluded post-procedure. Within the ruptured aneurysm group, post-procedure occlusion rates were 63.6%. Major AE rates were consistent with historical data.

E-006 Familial Incidence of the Congenital Torcular Dural Arteriovenous Shunt
Purpose There are several hereditary disorders that are well known to be associated with arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) involving the central nervous system including Sturge-Weber, Klippel-Trenaunay-Weber, and Parkes-Weber syndromes as well as hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia and hereditary neurocutaneous angiomatosis. Furthermore, familial incidence of AVMs in the absence of congenital hereditary disorders also has been reported. Herein, we describe the occurrence of the giant torcular herophili (TH) dural arteriovenous fistula (AVF) in two pediatric cousins treated with endovascular embolization. Case report C...

P-011 Early experience with TransForm™ Occlusion Balloon Catheter (OBC): A Single-Center Study
Conclusions In our single-center study, balloon remodeled coil embolization of aneurysm using TOBC was not associated with any serious complications. The balloon was trackable to intended site and the preparation time was relatively short. We believe that TOBC has good utility in treating broad-necked aneurysms and small aneurysms that are otherwise suboptimally managed by conventional deployment. Disclosures S. Quadri: None. V.
