Sex Difference in the Impact of Dual Antiplatelet Therapy using Cilostazol for Secondary Stroke Prevention: A Sub-Analysis of CSPS.com
CONCLUSIONS: Long-term DAPT using cilostazol reduced the recurrence of ischemic stroke and prolonged the recurrence-free time in male patients, but not in female patients.PMID:36070920 | DOI:10.5551/jat.63660

The Applicability of Thromboelastography in Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Literature Review
This article aims to highlight the potential use of TEG in AIS patients by reviewing available studies. We conducted a literature review, including PubMed and Cochrane library databases. The following keywords were used to find relevant studies: thromboelastography, TEG, acute ischemic stroke, stroke, coagulopathy, antiplatelet, and anticoagulant treatment. We identified 142 papers and after abstract review, we included 24 studies in this report. TEG identified a hypercoagulable state in AIS patients represented by short R, K, and greater α angle in all papers included. Modification of TEG parameters induced by intravenou...

O10 The necessity of monitoring platelet response and adjusting antiplatelet agents for endovascular treatment of unruptured intracranial aneurysms: a single-center, retrospective, cohort study
ConclusionActive monitoring and adjustment antiplatelet agents did not reduce ischemic complications in endovascular treatment; however, tended to reduce the ischemic complication, especially in flow diversion. Low-dose prasugrel may be feasible without increasing hemorrhage in the endovascular treatment of unruptured intracranial aneurysms.ReferencesLi W. A Multicenter, Phase 2, Randomized, Placebo-Controlled, Double-Blind, Parallel-Group, Dose-Finding Trial of the Oral Factor XIa Inhibitor Asundexian to Prevent Adverse Cardiovascular Outcomes Following Acute Myocardial Infarction
CONCLUSIONS: In patients with recent acute MI, 3 doses of asundexian, when added to aspirin plus a P2Y12 inhibitor, resulted in dose-dependent, near-complete inhibition of FXIa activity without a significant increase in bleeding and a low rate of ischemic events. These data support the investigation of asundexian at a dose of 50 mg daily in an adequately powered clinical trial of patients following acute MI.PMID:36030390 | DOI:10.1161/CIRCULATIONAHA.122.061612

Relevance of Carotid Reocclusion in Tandem Lesions
CONCLUSIONS: CRO has a relevant clinical impact in our study, associating lower rates of good functional outcomes at 3 months. Independent factors of CRO were the recanalization degree, presence of pial collateral circulation, use of a stent as a protective factor, and use of general anesthesia during thrombectomy.PMID:35989291 | DOI:10.5551/jat.63560

CONCLUSIONS: Anticoagulation with apixaban after minimally invasive robotic MVRep is safe and has similar rates of bleeding and thromboembolism compared to patients treated with warfarin.PMID:35973484 | DOI:10.1016/j.athoracsur.2022.07.045

E-055 Internal carotid artery reconstruction with flow diverting stents in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke: technical considerations and medical management
ConclusionsFDS appear to be a safe and effective tool for reconstruction of a symptomatic dissection in tortuous cervical ICAs. Their flexibility allows conformation to complex anatomies and they can be traversed multiple times by aspiration catheters/stentrievers. We found excellent patency at follow up. The unique challenges posed by utilization of high-profile stents in acute stroke require appropriate technical execution and medical management.Disclosures E. Orru: None. F. Bounni: None. M.
