ConclusionAn offer of 2-step screening with risk assessment and BMD measurement toselected postmenopausal females with low prevalence of prior fracture probably results in a small reduction in the risk of clinical fragility fracture and hip fracture compared to no screening. Sickle cell bone disease and response to intravenous bisphosphonates in children
ConclusionChildren with SCD have the potential for extensive and early-onset bone morbidity. In this series, IV bisphosphonates were effective for bone pain analgesia and did not trigger sickle cell complications.
