Chiropractic care and the risk of vertebrobasilar stroke: results of a case–control study in U.S. commercial and Medicare Advantage populations
Conclusions
We found no significant association between exposure to chiropractic care and the risk of VBA stroke. We conclude that manipulation is an unlikely cause of VBA stroke. The positive association between PCP visits and VBA stroke is most likely due to patient decisions to seek care for the symptoms (headache and neck pain) of arterial dissection. We further conclude that using chiropractic visits as a measure of exposure to manipulation may result in unreliable estimates of the strength of association with the occurrence of VBA stroke.

Pregnancy increases stroke risk up to 1 year postpartum and reduces long-term risk
Conclusion: The risk of stroke was elevated during the first year postpartum, but lower in subsequent years. Stroke risk increased in multiparous ( ≥3) women. Physicians should be on alert for pregnancy complications and ensure appropriate management to prevent postpartum stroke.

Migraine and risk of stroke: a national population-based twin study
In conclusion, we observed no increased stroke risk related to migraine overall but there was a modestly increased risk for stroke related to migraine with aura, and within-pair analyses suggested that familial factors might contribute to this association.

Migraine Age of Onset and Association With Ischemic Stroke in Late Life: 20 Years Follow-Up in ARIC.
CONCLUSION: As compared to the no headache participants, increased stroke risk in late life was observed in participants with late onset of MA. In this cohort, longer cumulative exposure to migraine with visual aura, as would be expected with early onset of migraine, was not associated with increased risk of ischemic stroke in late life. This study underscores the importance of the age of onset of MA in assessing stroke risk in older migraineurs.

Headache attributed to ischaemic stroke. An update on its semiology and diagnosis
CONCLUSION: Headache after ischemic stroke is a common symptom. It was associated with female sex, posterior circulation stroke and low scores on the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). The current diagnostic criteria should be reviewed.PMID:37668234 | DOI:10.33588/rn.7706.2022402
