Conclusions Delayed DC for hemispheric stroke patients managed under protocol in the neurocritical care unit is a safe alternative to early, prophylactic DC for adults with severe hemispheric stroke. ConclusionsThe THRIVE score predicts the risk of symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage after intravenous tissue plasminogen activator administration. This external validation of the relationship between THRIVE and symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage in a prospective study further strengthens the role of the THRIVE score in the prediction of poststroke outcomes.

West Virginia University Pediatric Stroke Registry: Clinical Description and Risk Factors Identification in Patients From a Rural Area
Conclusion. Patients with the most common risk factors for stroke (cardiac disease) were overrepresented. This suggests that in children receiving medical attention in rural areas less common risk factors for stroke might not be identified, increasing the risk recurrence. Increased index of suspicion is needed about pediatric stroke in rural areas, and early transfer to a tertiary care center for identification of risk factors is mandatory.

ConclusionAge, NIHSS score, use of stent retrievers, mode of anesthesia, and symptomatic ICH might affect functional outcome in stroke patients who achieve successful recanalization via intra-arterial therapy. Prospective studies, or a meta-analysis of sub-groups in the recently published prospective trials are needed to confirm the association between those factors, or others, and functional outcome. O-016 Outcomes after endovascular mechanical thrombectomy for low national institutes of health stroke scale (NIHSS): a multicenter study
ConclusionsMT is an effective and safe treatment for appropriately selected ischemic stroke patients presenting with low NIHSS. Diabetes and prior stroke are predictors of functional dependence at 90 days, and prior stroke is also associated with mortality, suggesting that MT should be offered judiciously to patients with these risk factors.
