Post-stroke Movement Disorders: Clinical Spectrum, Pathogenesis, and Management
Neurology India 2021 69(2):272-283 Involuntary movements develop after 1–4% of strokes and they have been reported in patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes affecting the basal ganglia, thalamus, and/or their connections. Hemichorea-hemiballism is the most common movement disorder following a stroke in adults while dystonia is most common in children. Tremor, myoclonus, asterixis, stereotypies, and vascular parkinsonism are other movement disorders seen following stroke. Some of them occur immediately after acute stroke, some can develop later, and others may have delayed onset progressive ...

Predictors of intracerebral hemorrhage in acute stroke patients receiving intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen activator
Conclusion: High NIHSS score, increased stroke onset to thrombolysis time , high blood sugar at presentation ,prior diabetes and hypertension increase the chances of sICH. None of these contraindicate thrombolysing strokes but should caution the physician.

Endovascular Treatment for Acute Tandem Occlusion Stroke: Results from Case Series of 17 Patients
Conclusion: Our study determined a promising outcome with reasonable good recanalization and clinical recovery for endovascular intervention in tandem ischemic. In the subgroup of treatment, “extracranial stent first” had more complex disease with completed ICA occlusion which required longer procedure time may lead to worse outcome.

Comparison of the Solitaire and Trevo Stents for Endovascular Treatment of Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Single.Center Experience
Conclusion: The Trevo stent achieved more successful recanalization with less need for rescue treatment and less time for recanalization than the Solitaire stent. There was no statistically significant difference in the clinical outcomes.

Thrombectomy with or without Bridging Thrombolysis for Anterior System Stroke
Conclusions: In this study, BT seems to yield better clinical and procedural outcomes with lower complication rates than d-MT. These findings may support the additional value of intravenous alteplase in anterior system strokes. Further large-scale, prospective, randomized-controlled studies will clarify the gray lines in this consensus, but this paper is important for reflecting the real-world data in developing countries.
