Safety and Efficacy of IV-tPA Use in Patients 80 Years and Older- A Retrospective Review (P2.305)
Conclusion—We observed no increase in sICH post IV-tPA in patients 80+ when compared to those younger. Higher mortality in those 80+ likely due to baseline disabilities. The role of copeptin in patients with subarachnoid haemorrage.
CONCLUSION: Patients with a gradual increase of copeptin values showed to have bad prognosis of the disease. Four with extremely high copeptin values passed away, while patients with a gradual decrease or a normal amount of copeptin values had good prognosis. Pre-hospital emergency skills for medical students
Conclusion These results show that there is some anxiety amongst students about being able to manage pre-hospital emergencies in which the public might expect them to cope or in which they feel obliged to help. The results show that although students would be willing to help they may not posess the necessary knowledge to do so. They show that there is a demand for teaching focussed on these skills but that there is not necessarily a need for it taking into account the frequency of incidents encountered. A trial teaching programme will take place in July.

Cerebral vasospasm patterns following aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage: an angiographic study comparing coils with clips
Conclusions Patients with aSAH treated by endovascular coiling and surgical clipping demonstrate distinct vasospasm patterns. While both initially exhibit perianeurysmal spasm, patients treated by coiling go on to develop stepwise progression distally over time. This finding may reflect dispersion of blood breakdown products along preserved CSF egress pathways in patients treated by endovascular coiling.

Neurologic Complications of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation.

Significance of Periclot MMP-9 in Ischemic Stroke Patients Undergoing Intra-arterial Interventions (P4.303)
CONCLUSIONS: Decreased periclot MMP-9 may be predictive of HT after ischemic stroke, contrasting with previous work demonstrating elevated peripheral MMP-9 as predictive of HT. Increased periclot MCP-4 and angiogenin expression, as well as decreased numbers of circulating monocytes, may serve as additional predictive markers of HT. Outcomes of endovascular mechanical thrombectomy and intravenous tissue plasminogen activator for the treatment of vertebrobasilar stroke.
CONCLUSIONS: Patients requiring IV-tPA and/or mechanical thrombectomy for the treatment of posterior-circulation strokes suffer from high mortality rates. Glucose and lipid assessment in patients with acute stroke
Conclusions: The detection of abnormal metabolic milieu is a window of opportunity for aggressive management in persons with stroke as this will improve outcome. Routine screening for hyperglycaemia in persons with stroke using glycosylated haemoglobin tests and blood glucose may uncover previously undiagnosed DM.

P-014 Improvement in Angiographic Transit Times Post Endovascular Vasospasm Treatment in Patients with Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Haemorrhage
Conclusion The DSA TT correlated with improvements in neurological status in patients with clinical vasospasm. TT might reflect a better way to assess vasospasm severity and response to treatment as compared to vessel diameter.
