Intensive versus standard blood pressure control in older persons with or without diabetes: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials
CONCLUSIONS: Aggregate trial evidence shows that intensive BP control (<120 to <140 mmHg) reduces the risk of adverse cardiovascular outcomes in older hypertensive patients in the general population with no increase in adverse events. Intensive BP control may confer similar benefits for older patients with DM with no evidence for harm, but this is based on limited data.PROSPERO Registration: CRD42022349791.PMID:36825537 | DOI:10.1177/01410768231156997

Multimodality imaging of adult patients with surgically corrected tetralogy of Fallot.
CONCLUSION: Beneficial left ventricular morphological and functional parameters, but more pronounced right ventricular hypertrophy could be detected in patients with tetralogy of Fallot following early total reconstruction as compared to that of subjects late after early palliation/late correction. Orv Hetil. 2023; 164(5): 186-194.PMID:36739548 | DOI:10.1556/650.2023.32696

Associations Between Korean Coronary Heart Disease Risk Score and Cognitive Function in Dementia-Free Korean Older Adults
CONCLUSION: Individuals with high cardiovascular risk were associated with poorer cognitive function than those with low risk, especially older women. Cardiovascular risk factors should be carefully managed to promote healthy mental aging in dementia-free elderly individuals.PMID:36625173 | DOI:10.3346/jkms.2023.38.e11

Prevalence of and factors associated with multimorbidity among 18 101 adults in the South East Asia Community Observatory Health and Demographic Surveillance System in Malaysia: a population-based, cross-sectional study of the MUTUAL consortium
Conclusions The current single-disease services in primary and secondary care should be accompanied by strategies to address complexities associated with multimorbidity, taking into account the factors associated with multimorbidity identified. Future research is needed to identify the most commonly occurring clusters of chronic diseases and their risk factors to develop more efficient and effective multimorbidity prevention and treatment strategies.

Pre-eclampsia and cardiovascular risk: a long-term nationwide cohort study on over 120 000 Finnish women
Conclusion Pre-eclampsia-related significant elevations in CVD risks of Finnish women with inherently high risk for these diseases were of the same magnitude as reported previously from other countries. Thus, women with a history of pre-eclampsia should be screened and treated early for modifiable cardiovascular risk factors.
