Comparative Effectiveness and Safety Between Apixaban, Dabigatran, Edoxaban, and Rivaroxaban Among Patients With Atrial Fibrillation : A Multinational Population-Based Cohort Study
CONCLUSION: Among patients with AF, apixaban use was associated with lower risk for GIB and similar rates of ischemic stroke or systemic embolism, ICH, and all-cause mortality compared with dabigatran, edoxaban, and rivaroxaban. Sixth Annual Pediatric Interagency Registry for Mechanical Circulatory Support (Pedimacs) Report
CONCLUSIONS: This Sixth Pedimacs Report demonstrates the continued evolution of the pediatric field. The complexity of cardiac physiologies and anatomical constraint mandates the need for multiple types of devices utilized (PC, PP, IC). Comparative outcomes associated with rivaroxaban versus warfarin use in elderly patients with atrial fibrillation or acute venous thromboembolism managed in the United States: a systematic review of observational studies

Outcomes of Berlin Heart EXCOR ® pediatric ventricular assist device support in patients with restrictive and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
This study reviews the North American experience with Berlin Heart EXCOR® ventricular assist device implants in children with such physiology. The Berlin Heart clinical database was reviewed. Patients with primary diastolic dysfunction are included in this study. Twenty pediatric patients with restrictive cardiomyopathy (n = 13), hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (n = 3), or congenital heart disease with restrictive physiology (n = 4) who were supported with EXCOR® were identified. Stop Bleeding! Oral  Anticoagulation and Options for Reversal
Direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) are widely used medications for stroke prevention in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (AF), and for deep vein thrombosis treatment and prevention. The IMS Institute for Healthcare Informatics analyzed outpatient anticoagulant use in the United States between 2009 and 2014 and found that there has been a steady increase in DOAC use following their initial approval in 2010.1 DOACs include the direct thrombin inhibitor dabigatran, and the factor Xa inhibitors rivaroxaban, apixaban, and edoxaban, and recently approved betrixaban.

Endovascular Versus Surgical Revascularization for Chronic Mesenteric Ischemia: Insights From the National Inpatient Sample Database
Conclusions In a large, retrospective analysis of patients with CMI, endovascular therapy remained the dominant revascularization modality, and was associated with lower rates of MACCE, composite in-hospital complications, lower costs, and shorter length of stay compared with surgery.
