An Observational Study Comparing the Safety and Efficacy of Conventional Anticoagulation Versus New Oral Anticoagulants in the Management of Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis
Conclusion: NOACs were found to be at least as good as conventional anticoagulation for the management of CVST. However, efficacy was almost similar, a finding that is consistent with most of the published case series and the few recently published prospective studies. Assessment of the quality of anticoagulation management with warfarin in a tertiary care center.
CONCLUSION: Reflecting the real-life experience of anticoagulation control, our patients spend less than half the TTR within the INR. The low target TTR mandates the need to improve service quality and control factors affecting the TTR, including hemoglobin levels and regular visits for patients with VTE. Prevalence and predictors of inappropriate apixaban dosing in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation at a large tertiary academic medical institution
ConclusionIn patients with NVAF receiving apixaban for stroke prevention in this real-world analysis,>  80% were prescribed an appropriate dosage of apixaban. Proactive procedures, such as integrating an electronic dosing algorithm, educating healthcare providers, and involving clinical pharmacists in medication review, may help ensure the use of appropriate apixaban dosages.

In ‐hospital ventricular arrhythmia in heart failure patients: 7 year follow‐up of the multi‐centric HEARTS registry
ConclusionsLower mean age of VA complicated HF patients is a matter of concern in the Saudi population. HF associated with VA increased in ‐hospital events and all‐cause mortality indicating poor prognosis and survival. These findings enable risk stratification and reflect on the importance of early recognition of the clinical markers and predictors of VA prompting immediate management.

Appropriateness of dabigatran dosing in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF): A retrospective study conducted in a tertiary care university hospital in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia
ConclusionThis study revealed inappropriate prescription of reduced doses of dabigatran in a large number of patients. Age was identified as the main driving factor for underdosing. Physicians’ and pharmacists’ awareness regarding this type of high-risk medication should be improved to ensure appropriate and safe use of this commonly used drug.

Safety and feasibility of returning patients immediately to their originating hospitals after primary percutaneous coronary intervention
ConclusionThe immediate return of low risk STEMI patients to their originating hospitals after PPCI is safe and feasible and is effective strategy to provide this prefer and effective re-perfusion therapy to vast majority of patients with STEMI.
