The Effect of Metformin on Vitamin B12 Deficiency and Stroke
CONCLUSIONS: T2DM is a significant risk factor to the development of ischemic stroke. We found an association between metformin use and vitamin B12 deficiency and an association between vitamin B12 deficiency and stroke risk in patients with T2DM. Diabetic patients who are taking metformin should monitor their vitamin B12 level.PMID:36841981

Gamification of the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) for simulation training-a feasibility study
CONCLUSION: Game-based digital simulation training is a feasible alternative to standard in-person simulation training to acquire competence in NIHSS assessment. Peripheral eosinophil trends and clinical outcomes after non-traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage
ConclusionThis study demonstrated that a delayed increase in eosinophils after SAH occurs and may contribute to functional outcomes. The mechanism of this effect and the relationship with SAH pathophysiology merit further investigation.

Clinical perspective in relation to age in patients treated with thrombectomy for anterior circulation stroke in a stroke center in Colombia
CONCLUSIONS: Age younger than 80 is a significant predictor for results and long-term outcomes in patients suffering from stroke, and in patients older than 80 years old a Thrombolysis in Cerebral Infarction score 2b-3 is a predictor of good outcomes. Conclusion: Almost 1 in 10 participants was engaged in suicidal behaviour in the past 12 months, and several associated indicators were found that can assist in planning interventions.

Conclusion: This present study observed no difference in the efficacy and safety between biosimilar TNK and rTPA. Our findings are in concordance with published trials showing equivalence between the two molecules.

When a Dutch nurse named Lucia de Berk stood trial for serial murder in 2003, statistician Richard Gill was aware of the case. But he saw no reason to stick his nose into it.
