Inhibition of autophagy and induction of glioblastoma cell death by NEO214, a perillyl alcohol-rolipram conjugate
Autophagy. 2023 Aug 6:1-20. doi: 10.1080/15548627.2023.2242696. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTGlioblastoma (GBM) is the most aggressive primary brain tumor, exhibiting a high rate of recurrence and poor prognosis. Surgery and chemoradiation with temozolomide (TMZ) represent the standard of care, but, in most cases, the tumor develops resistance to further treatment and the patients succumb to disease. Therefore, there is a great need for the development of well-tolerated, effective drugs that specifically target chemoresistant gliomas. NEO214 was generated by covalently conjugating rolipram, a PDE4 (phosphodiesterase 4) in...

Trends in volume-regulated anion channel (VRAC) research: visualization and bibliometric analysis from 2014 to 2022
Conclusion: The aim of this bibliometric analysis is to provide an overall perspective for research on VRAC. VRAC has become a topic of increasing interest, and our analysis shows that it continues to be a prominent area. This study offers insights into the investigation of VRAC channel and may guide researchers in identifying new directions for future research.PMID:37538172 | PMC:PMC10394876 | DOI:10.3389/fphar.2023.1234885

The Assessment of Clinical Outcomes and Prognostic Factors in Glioblastoma Patients
CONCLUSION: According to the literature in our study, a multidisciplinary and intensive treatment approach using modern techniques improved the OS of glioblastoma patients. Furthermore, larger RT fields were not associated with better outcomes in glioblastoma patients. As a result, lymphocyte-sparing RT may be more beneficial in increasing patients\' compliance to adjuvant TMZ, which is an important prognostic factor of OS.PMID:37528719 | DOI:10.5137/1019-5149.JTN.40460-22.3
