Verbs Matter: A Tutorial for Determining Verb Difficulty
CONCLUSIONS: Clinicians may use the verb lists, frequency ratings, and phonological complexity scores to help identify verbs to incorporate into assessment and intervention sessions with children. Researchers and clinicians may use the step-by-step approach presented in the tutorial to identify verbs or other syntactic components used in different morphosyntactic contexts or produced by individuals of different demographics in different speaking contexts.PMID:37566905 | DOI:10.1044/2023_AJSLP-22-00333

Barriers to Informational Support for Care Partners of People With Aphasia After Stroke
CONCLUSION: The results suggest that changes are needed at both systemic and care provider levels to ensure that tailored information is provided to care partners of people with aphasia.PMID:37566895 | DOI:10.1044/2023_AJSLP-22-00391

Exploring Alternative Methods to Reduce Milk Flow Rate From Infant Bottle Systems: Bottle Angle, Milk Volume, and Bottle Ventilation
CONCLUSIONS: Milk flow rate can be altered by feeding conditions outside of bottle nipples alone. Future work examining the clinical significance of these modifications is warranted to determine optimal interventions.PMID:37566887 | DOI:10.1044/2023_AJSLP-23-00109

Stratifying Risk of Nonadherence in Lingual Strengthening Dysphagia Rehabilitation
CONCLUSIONS: This study identified distinct risk groups for nonadherence to lingual strengthening dysphagia rehabilitation. Additional research is necessary to understand how these factors may drive nonadherence. With external validation and refinement through prospective studies, a clinically relevant risk stratification tool can be developed to identify patients who may be at high risk for nonadherence and provide targeted patient support to mitigate risk and provide for unmet needs.PMID:37566883 | DOI:10.1044/2023_AJSLP-22-00338

Perception of Supervisory Styles
This study examines a facet of the supervisory relationship and investigates whether supervision styles are similarly perceived by the supervisor and supervisee and if a mismatch in perceptions relates to satisfaction between supervisor-supervisee dyads. Data were collected through completion of a demographic questionnaire as well as the Supervisory Style Inventory, which categorizes supervisory style as being attractive, interpersonally sensitive, task-oriented, or mixed. Findings demonstrate notable variance in the self-reported supervisor style and the style supervisees perceived as being demonstrated with over half (66...
