Phenotypic clusters and survival analyses in interstitial pneumonia with myositis-specific autoantibodies
CONCLUSIONS: Four clusters of the patients with MSA-IP suggested the distinct clinical, radiological and prognostic features.PMID:35115753 | PMC:PMC8787374 | DOI:10.36141/svdld.v38i4.11368

Late onset Pompe Disease: A rare cause of respiratory failure
Discussion: Late onset Pompe disease is a rare cause of respiratory failure. Diagnosis depends on clinician awareness, appropriate clinical suspicion and specific investigations. Although incurable, ERT slows disease progression and prolongs survival.

Pulmonary involvement in antisynthetase syndrome: more than myopathy
Antisynthetase syndrome (ASS) is a rare CTD. Pulmonary involvement is the most important guide in predicting prognosis. While investigating the etiology of ILD in the chest diseases outpatient clinic, the characteristics of three subjects diagnosed with ASS were examined (Figure).NSIP was observed in two cases and organized pneumonia in one. Serum autoantibodies were positive against aminoacyl transfer RNA synthetases. Lymphocytosis was observed in BAL. All of them were evaluated by the multidisciplinary team and immunosuppressive therapy was initiated for the patients. Clinical and radiological improvement was detected in...

Respiratory system involvement and follow-up of children with inherited metabolic diseases
Conclusions: Pulmonary involvement of IMD can be cause of mortality, so clinical suspicion and early diagnosis of lung involvement are important. Respiratory system therapy may improve prognosis of patients with IMD.

A narrative review of interstitial lung disease in anti-synthetase syndrome: a clinical approach
J Thorac Dis. 2021 Sep;13(9):5556-5571. doi: 10.21037/jtd-20-3328.ABSTRACTAnti-synthetase syndrome (AS) is a rare autoimmune disorder characterized by the presence of aminoacyl-transfer RNA synthetase antibodies in conjunction with clinical features such as interstitial lung disease (ILD), Raynaud's phenomenon, nonerosive arthritis, and myopathy. AS distinguishes itself from other inflammatory myopathies by its significant lung involvement and rapidly progressive interstitial lung disease (AS-ILD), therefore the management of AS-ILD requires careful clinical, serologic and radiologic assessment. Glucocorticoids are conside...
