A Qualitative Investigation of Provers' Experiences of Participation in Homeopathic Pathogenetic Trials.
CONCLUSION:  Former provers who participated in this study reported enthusiasm for, and trust in, the proving process. However, some also reported adverse events, which varied in intensity and duration. The process of gaining fully informed consent for participation in an HPT is complex and there were examples of both failure and inadequacy in terms of informed consent and support mechanisms. RECOMMENDATIONS:  The researchers recommend that HPTs are subject to ethical approval processes and that consent is fully informed and ongoing. It is also recommended that appropriate and robust support mechanisms be develope...

Symptom Similarity versus Disease Similarity: Revisiting the Application of the Law of Similars and Challenging the Symptom-Centric Approach in Homeopathy.
Abstract The system of homeopathic medicine is based on the Law of Similars. It is often implied by students and practitioners of homeopathy that the fundamental principle suggests that if the substance is capable of producing certain 'symptoms', it can also remove, treat, or 'annihilate' similar symptoms if the same substance is administered in a small dose. Hahnemann clearly highlights the importance of pathogenesis or 'disease-producing power', and not just the symptoms-producing power, as a part of the 'totality of the disease'. The author perceives the need for a rectification in the symptom-centric approach ...

Attitudes, Knowledge, Use, and Recommendation of Complementary and Alternative Medicine by Health Professionals in Western Mexico
Conclusions We observed a high rate of Mexican health professionals that had ever used CAM, and they had mainly used homeopathy, massage therapy, and herbal medicine. However, the recommendation rate of CAM by Mexican physicians was significantly lower than that in other countries, which is probably due to the lack of CAM training in most Mexican medical schools.

How to handle worsening of condition during treatment - risk assessment in homeopathic practice.
Authors: Stub T, Salamonsen A, Kristoffersen A, Musial F Abstract Even though homeopathy is regarded as a harmless intervention, homeopathic practice may not be entirely risk-free. Risk in homeopathy can be divided into direct and indirect risk. Direct risk refers to traditional adverse effects of an intervention; indirect risk is related to adverse effects in a treatment context, e.g. the practitioner. Available data suggest that the risk profile of homeopathic remedies in ultra-molecular potencies is minor, but there is a potential for indirect risk related to homeopathic practice. The concept of 'homeopathic agg...

Will You Pass Me the Salt?
Homoeopathic Links 2015; 28: 230-233DOI: 10.1055/s-0035-1566239In this article the author points out the existing correspondence between a homeopathic remedy picture and a society's pathology. So to say societies can function in the wavelength of a certain homeopathic remedy. That is the case of Thailand, Brazil and California with a lot of Medorrhinum features—Germany that reminds Nux vomica picture, the Islamic State with so many Veratrum album characteristics and Portugal a typical Natrum muriaticum society. Many features of the people from this country stand for Natrum muriaticum like fate, grief, longing, concernmen...
