Investigational medications in 9,638 hospitalized patients with severe COVID-19: lessons from the "fail-and-learn" strategy during the first two waves of the pandemic in 2020
CONCLUSION: This retrospective multicenter observational cohort study on 9,638 hospitalized patients with severe COVID-19 during revealed that the necessity for invasive ventilation had the highest odds of mortality, beyond the variable effects observed by administration of the prevalent EUA-approved investigational drugs during the first two surges of the early 2020 pandemic in the United States.PMID:37041643 | PMC:PMC10088131 | DOI:10.1186/s13037-023-00358-9

Anti-S1/RBD-Specific Antibody Formation After SARS-CoV-2 Vaccination in Elderly Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients: Single-Center Prospective Observational Study
CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that the third dose of the mRNA vaccine could be beneficial in RA patients with risk factors including older age, male sex, and corticosteroid use after two doses of ChAdOx1-S nCoV-19.PMID:37038645 | PMC:PMC10086382 | DOI:10.3346/jkms.2023.38.e109

COVID-19 Vaccine-Associated Pneumonitis in the Republic of Korea: A Nationwide Multicenter Survey
CONCLUSION: These results suggest pneumonitis as a potentially significant safety concern for vaccines against SARS-CoV-2. Clinical awareness and patient education are necessary for early recognition and prompt management. Additional research is warranted to identify the epidemiology and characterize the pathophysiology of vaccine-associated pneumonitis.PMID:37038643 | PMC:PMC10086377 | DOI:10.3346/jkms.2023.38.e106
