Post-COVID-19 Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome-Related Cerebral Infarction in a Pediatric Patient Managed with Decompressive Craniectomy
Conclusion: Though rare in children, SARS-CoV-2 can lead to AIS, especially in the presence of underlying risk factors such as MIS-C and hypercoagulopathy. AIS can be associated with severe mortality and morbidity; however, even in this severe case of AIS, the patient was successfully treated with a decompressive craniectomy.Pediatr Neurosurg

Role of fibrinogen, albumin and fibrinogen to albumin ratio in determining angiographic severity and outcomes in acute coronary syndrome
CONCLUSION: Novel biomarkers, with their high cost, lack of availability and long turn over time are impractical for real-world use. Identifying ≤ TIMI 1 flow in the culprit artery has significant impact of management and outcome. Our study has shown that readily available biomarkers like fibrinogen and albumin can help identify these high-risk patients with good accuracy. This allows risk-stratification and individualization of treatment in ACS.PMID:36714367 | PMC:PMC9850671 | DOI:10.4330/wjc.v15.i1.13
